    Farm Fresh Update -August 27th

A huge THANK YOU to all of our wonderful customers who came out to pick, taste, and enjoy our strawberries this year. Your support means the world to us! ❤️ We’re now officially closed for the season, but we’re already excited to see you all again next year for more sweet berry fun. Until then, stay safe and thank you for being part of our farm family! 🌱

    About Bobsberrys.com

    Hydroponic farming

Bobs Berrys is a small family-owned business with a passion for providing the freshest and healthiest strawberries for our family and yours.  Bob, who has a degree in agronomy and horticulture, embraced the idea of hydroponic farming.  He knew that tilling the land wasn't always the safest way to grow food because of all the impurities and "unknowns" often found in the soil.  Unlike traditional farms, the plants grow without soil in a coco coir substrate, with the plants obtaining all their nutrition from a drip irrigation system. This independence from land bring the power of food to the next level.

At Bobs Berrys, we supply high-quality strawberries to the local community. As we enter another year of growing we are excited to offer our strawberries at the Kirksville, LaPlata, and Brookfield Farmers Markets. Our commitment to excellence has earned us a reputation as one of the most reliable & sweet tasting strawberry farms in our area.

A serving of 8 strawberries fulfills the recommended value of vitamin C for an entire day. Vitamin C not only plays a role in immune function, but it helps form vital parts of your body like blood vessels, cartilage, muscle, and collagen in bones. It also helps your body absorb iron from plant foods and is an antioxidant that fights free radicals believed to be linked to heart disease and cancer.

    1. You will be assigned a row(s) depending on how many buckets you purchase.

    2. It is recommended that you wear boots if it has rained recently.

    3. NO PETS are allowed on the farm.

    4. CHILDREN are always welcome, but they must be accompanied by an adult at all times for their safety. Horseplay in the strawberry field will not be tolerated. This is a working farm with free range animals that should not be touched or approached. Strollers/wagons will be challenging to navigate in the strawberry field because of uneven farm field terrain.

    5. Since the strawberries are on a high tabletop most younger children will not be able to reach them.  We ask that you do not pull or tug on the plants as this can damage the fruit and plant. We will provided each adult with scissors to make picking easier. We have drip irrigation in the containers so please be careful not to cut the line if you are using scissors.

    6. We try to update this website weekly, so please check back often to find out the latest in crop availability and changes in open times due to inclement weather.

    7. We do not have picnic/playground facilities or bathrooms available.

    8. NO SMOKING is allowed on the farm.

    9. Cold drinks and gifts are available for purchase in the Strawberry Shack.

Our sweet granddaughter - a true strawberry lover says it all! No one is ever too young or too old to enjoy that first juicy bite of a homegrown strawberry. It's a simple pleasure that brings smiles across generations.

It's always such a joy when children visit our farm and taste our strawberries for the very first time. The excitement in their eyes and the expressions of their faces are absolutely priceless. It reminds us why we love what we do! Thank you, Jerry, for stopping by with your mom.
